
International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) and the Krishi Gobeshona Foundation (KGF) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 8, 2025 at the IUBAT Conference Hall, establishing a strategic partnership to enhance agricultural research, academic collaboration, and capacity building.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, and Dr. Nathu Ram Sarker, Executive Director of KGF, in the presence of senior officials, faculty members, and researchers from both institutions. From IUBAT, Professor Selina Nargis, Treasurer and Director of Administration; Prof. Dr. Md Shohidullah Miah, Professor of the College of Agricultural Sciences; Prof. Dr. A. J. M Sirajul Karim, Chair of the College of Agricultural Sciences; Prof. Dr. Sajal Saha, Director of the Miyan Research Institute; and Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the College of Agricultural Sciences, along with other faculty members, were present at the ceremony. From KGF, Dr. Md. Monowar Karim Khan, Senior Specialist (Climate & Natural Resources), and Dr. Nathu Ram Sarker, Executive Director, along with other high officials, participated in the event.
The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, who in his presidential remarks emphasized the vital role of collaborative research and innovation in achieving national food security, strengthening climate resilience, and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dr. Nathu Ram Sarker, Executive Director of KGF, stated, “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with IUBAT will further strengthen the mutual cooperation and relationship between the two institutions. The existing potential for agricultural research at IUBAT will be expanded through this partnership. From now on, IUBAT faculty members will be eligible to apply for various research grants offered by KGF, which will play a significant role in advancing agricultural development in the country.
This collaboration is expected to facilitate joint research projects, agricultural technology dissemination, academic exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives that will benefit the agricultural sector of Bangladesh and promote sustainable development.
