IUBAT Holds Freshmen Initiation Program for Summer 2026 Semester

The Freshmen Orientation and Initiation Program for the Summer 2026 Semester was successfully held at the permanent campus of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) in Uttara, Dhaka. The event took place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in a festive atmosphere amid the university’s green and scenic campus. The program became vibrant and lively with the enthusiastic participation of more than two thousand newly admitted students and their guardians.

During the orientation session, documentary presentations were shown to introduce the students to IUBAT’s mission and vision, academic regulations, career services, library and IT facilities, student organizations and co-curricular activities, transportation services, and other campus facilities. The students were also provided with a comprehensive overview of the university’s academic environment and overall operations.

The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT. The Chief Guest was Professor Dr. Arup Ratan Choudhury, Founding President of MANAS (Association for the Prevention of Drug Abuse). Special Guests included Rupali Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited; Dr. Syed Alamgir, renowned corporate leader and marketing expert; Ardra Kurien, CEO of Unico Hospitals PLC; and Mohammad Ayman Sadiq, Founder and CEO of 10 Minute School. The alumni representative address was delivered by Mashrufa Karim, First Officer of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. An inspirational speech for the newly admitted students was delivered by Professor Selina Nargis, Treasurer of IUBAT, while the closing remarks were delivered by Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of IUBAT.

In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the importance of ethics, leadership, innovative thinking, research-based education, and practical learning. They also highlighted the significance of time management, creative problem-solving, teamwork, and participation in community service activities. Furthermore, they called for collective efforts to strengthen IUBAT as a trusted center for knowledge, research, innovation, and career development.  As a token of appreciation, crests were presented to the distinguished guests during the program.

Following the formal session, reception and orientation programs were organized by various colleges, departments, and faculties for the newly admitted students. Faculty members, officials, and senior students warmly welcomed the newcomers and provided guidance regarding academic and co-curricular activities.

The day-long event concluded with a cultural evening and concert. A special performance by the popular band Joler Gaan captivated students, guardians, faculty members, and guests. The energetic musical performances created a festive atmosphere across the campus, making the beginning of university life memorable and enjoyable for the new students.

The program will remain a memorable experience for the freshmen, inspiring confidence and enthusiasm as they begin their university journey. It also provided an opportunity for students to experience IUBAT as a family, where education is complemented by the development of values, leadership, and social responsibility.
