IUBAT Hosts “Dhaka Bank Presents IUBAT Career Festival 2025” with Participation of 130 Local and International Organizations

To bring the career aspirations of young graduates closer to reality, the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) successfully organized one of the country’s largest employment-focused events, “Dhaka Bank Presents IUBAT Career Festival 2025.” The day-long festival was held on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on IUBAT’s green and serene campus, featuring the participation of more than 130 renowned local and foreign organizations.

As in previous years, the festival was organized by the university’s Branding and Public Relations Office with the aim of simplifying students’ transition into the job market and fostering a lasting bridge between academia and the corporate world. This year’s event surpassed all previous records in terms of participation, scale, recruitment opportunities, and corporate engagement.

A wide range of organizations—including leading corporates, banks, telecom companies, e-commerce firms, IT service providers, healthcare institutions, manufacturing industries, hospitality brands, NGOs, and agribusiness enterprises—joined the festival. Additionally, several international companies, multinational firms, and overseas employment organizations were present, turning the campus into a vibrant hub of career opportunities.

Thousands of students, graduates, and job seekers visited the booths of participating organizations throughout the day. This year, employers offered over 1,200 job vacancies, conducting on-the-spot CV collection, preliminary screening, written assessments, group discussions, and interviews to shortlist eligible candidates.

The core objective of the Career Festival was to connect students directly with employers, enabling them to understand real-time job market demands, essential skill sets, job responsibilities, career pathways, compensation structures, and future growth opportunities. Students reported highly positive experiences, emphasizing how direct conversations with HR professionals helped them assess their strengths, preparedness, and areas for improvement.

HR representatives also provided practical advice on CV development, interview techniques, job role identification, and adapting to corporate culture. Many students received preliminary selection offers during the event, while others were shortlisted for subsequent recruitment stages. Sectors such as IT, banking, digital marketing, data analytics, hospitality, and engineering saw particularly high interest.

One of the major highlights of the festival was the series of 10 Career Sessions conducted by distinguished HR experts from various industries. Hundreds of students attended these sessions, which covered emerging employment trends, the importance of internships, CV and cover letter preparation, interview confidence, corporate etiquette and communication, leadership and teamwork, digital skill development, and new employment opportunities in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students noted that these sessions broadened their outlook on career planning and future opportunities.

A special panel discussion, held in the afternoon, featured top corporate leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and prominent HR professionals. The panel explored key issues such as the current employment landscape in Bangladesh, evolving corporate requirements, skill gaps among graduates, enhanced academia–industry collaboration, and core values like ethics, transparency, and work culture.
Panelists emphasized that while academic degrees are important, long-term career success requires practical skills, the right mindset, and hands-on experience.

The most anticipated part of the festival was the on-the-spot interview sessions. Multiple companies conducted interviews throughout the day in dedicated blocks, seminar rooms, and booth areas. Many students gained their first ever corporate interview experience right on campus. University faculty, staff, and volunteers provided full logistical support to ensure a smooth recruitment process.

Since its inception, IUBAT has prioritized student employability through campus recruitment drives, internship placements, and corporate partnerships. The Career Festival further strengthened this connection, allowing employers to directly observe students’ potential and assess the quality of education offered by the university. This interaction significantly enhances IUBAT’s reputation, trust, and recruitment outcomes.

Students left the festival with visible confidence and enthusiasm. Many shared that the experience provided them with a realistic understanding of job market expectations and guided them toward essential skill development in areas such as digital literacy, communication, presentation, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.

Speaking about the festival, IUBAT Treasurer Professor Selina Nargis said,
“In the 21st century, students must move beyond textbook-based learning and advance through practical experience, research, technology, and skills. Direct interaction with the corporate world is vital for employability and career growth. IUBAT continues to create such opportunities to empower students. Events like this enhance confidence, develop skills, and open real doors to professional life. IUBAT is committed to offering even broader and stronger career opportunities in the days ahead.”

The “Dhaka Bank Presents IUBAT Career Festival 2025” stands as yet another milestone in IUBAT’s ongoing commitment to shaping skilled, confident, and industry-ready graduates for Bangladesh and beyond.
