Health Checkup and Blood Donation Campaign Held at IUBAT to Mark Historic July Mass Uprising

The College of Nursing at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Samity and Hospital, jointly organized a Health Checkup Program and Blood Donation Campaign on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the IUBAT Campus. The initiative was held as part of the observance of the historic July Mass Uprising, honoring the sacrifices and contributions made in the movement for democracy and justice.

The program was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, who commended the effort as a meaningful step toward promoting public health awareness and social responsibility among students and the wider community. Also present at the event were Brigadier General Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain (Retd.), Controller of Examinations of IUBAT; Professor Dr. Md. Momtazur Rahman, Registrar of IUBAT; Associate Professor Shubashish Das Bala, Coordinator of the College of Nursing; along with faculty members and students.

Throughout the day, students, alumni, and faculty members of IUBAT actively participated in the program by undergoing general health checkups and donating blood for patients suffering from thalassemia and other critical needs. The campaign aimed to raise awareness on the importance of voluntary blood donation and preventive healthcare practices, while also contributing to the treatment and support of those in need.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized the significance of engaging educational institutions in health and humanitarian initiatives, particularly in commemorating events of national importance like the July Mass Uprising. They expressed gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and medical professionals who made the program a success.

This joint initiative reflects IUBAT’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, public health, and social service, aligning with the university’s mission to foster responsible and socially conscious graduates.
