The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) successfully celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BSc in EEE) program through a vibrant two-day event.
The celebration commenced on the first day with a technical flagship event titled “IGNITRON25.2”, which displayed innovation, creativity, and student excellence. The event featured Project Showcasing, an Autonomous Sumo Robot Competition, and various electrical fun activities, creating an engaging platform for students to demonstrate their technical skills. In the project-showcasing segment, 73 student teams presented innovative electronics- and AI-powered projects, from which three teams were awarded prizes for their outstanding performance. Additionally, 12 teams participated in the Autonomous Sumo Robot Competition, where two teams secured prizes based on technical performance and competitive excellence. A Fun Zone was also arranged, allowing general students to participate in various interactive and entertaining activities.
The event was formally inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, Professor Dr. AbdurRab, whose presence and encouragement significantly inspired the participants. The technical event “IGNITRON25.2” was organized by the IUBAT Robotics Club.
On the second day, the Orientation Program for Freshers 2025 was held, welcoming new students to the Department of EEE. The Prize Giving Ceremony of IGNITRON25.2 also took place on the same day. Furthermore, appreciation certificates were handed over to the former executive committee members of the IUBAT EEE Society and the IUBAT Robotics Club, recognizing their valuable contributions. The celebration concluded with a cultural gala organized by the IUBAT EEE Society, where current students, alumni, and faculty members actively participated, adding a festive and memorable conclusion to the event.
The program was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. AbdurRab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT; Professor Dr. Md. Momtazur Rahman, Registrar of the University; Professor Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, Dean, College of Engineering; Dr. Raton Kumar Nondi, Chairman of the Department of EEE; and other distinguished faculty members. The entire event was coordinated by S. M. Rezaul Karim, Coordinator of DEEE, whose leadership ensured the successful execution of the celebration.
The two-day program highlighted the Department of EEE’s three decades of academic excellence, innovation, and contribution to engineering education, marking a proud milestone in its journey.
