International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) successfully organized an inspiring seminar titled "Ready to Fly with Erasmus Mundus Scholarships: Unlock Global Opportunities" on 25 July 2026 at Seminar Hall #227. The seminar aimed to equip IUBAT students with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence needed to secure prestigious Erasmus Mundus scholarships and pursue higher education at internationally renowned universities.

The keynote resource speaker was Dr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Regional Manager (Asia), Centralized Support for Erasmus+ National Focal Points under the European Commission and Former President of the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA). Drawing upon his extensive international experience, Dr. Rahman provided valuable insights into the Erasmus Mundus scholarship application process, highlighting the vast opportunities available for talented Bangladeshi students seeking fully funded postgraduate education in Europe.

During the interactive session, participants received comprehensive guidance on preparing competitive scholarship applications, including writing compelling Motivation Letters and Statements of Purpose (SoPs), developing impactful academic CVs, strengthening academic profiles through research and extracurricular activities, and understanding the selection criteria of leading international universities. Students also learned about Erasmus+, other fully funded global scholarship opportunities, and practical strategies for enhancing their chances of success.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Rahman emphasized that academic excellence alone is not sufficient to secure highly competitive international scholarships. He encouraged students to develop leadership qualities, engage in meaningful research, participate in community service, and continuously improve their communication and interpersonal skills to become globally competitive graduates.

The seminar attracted enthusiastic participation from students representing various academic disciplines across IUBAT. An engaging question-and-answer session allowed participants to seek personalized advice on scholarship preparation, university selection, career planning, and studying abroad.

The program was graced by Professor Selina Nargis, Treasurer, IUBAT; Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain, Controller of Examinations; Professor Dr. Md. Momtazur Rahman, Registrar; Professor Dr. Mozaffar A. Chowdhury, Dean, IUBAT Business School; Professor Dr. Utpal Kanti Das, Dean, IUBAT School of Computer Science and Engineering; Professor Dr. Sajal Saha, Director, Miyan Research Institute; Mr. Sadekul Islam, Director, International Office; Md. Alamin Sikder Shihab, Director, Branding and Public Relations Office (BPRO); and Dr. Hasanuzzaman Tuhar, Director, IUBAT Ranking Unit. Faculty members, university officials, and a large number of students also attended the seminar.
