IUBAT Mathematics Society Organized “Master the NUMO” Workshop to Prepare Students for National Olympiad

On 28 April 2026, the IUBAT Mathematics Society (IMS) successfully organized the NUMO Preparation Workshop titled “Master the NUMO” at IUBAT, with the participation of over 150 enthusiastic students from various departments.

NUMO (National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad) is one of the most prestigious Mathematics Olympiad for university students in Bangladesh.

The workshop was conducted by Atonu Roy Chowdhury, Lecturer from BRAC University and a 2-time NUMO Champion (2021 & 2023). He shared valuable insights on effective preparation strategies for the National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad (NUMO) and demonstrated innovative approaches to solving Olympiad-level mathematical problems.

Participants explored essential problem-solving techniques such as logical analysis, pattern recognition, small-case testing, and advanced mathematical thinking. The session also included topic-wise guidance on calculus, algebra, number theory, combinatorics, and linear algebra, along with recommended books and online resources.

Students were actively engaged throughout the session and showed great enthusiasm during the interactive Q&A segment. The workshop proved to be highly informative and inspiring, encouraging students to strengthen their analytical skills and deepen their interest in mathematics.

IMS actively contributes to fulfilling the broader vision and goals of IUBAT by fostering knowledge, innovation, and academic development among students.
