International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) observed Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day with due respect and solemnity. Various programs were organized at the university to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Language Movement.
On Saturday morning, marking the occasion, the national flag was hoisted at half-mast by the Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Board of Trustees Member Engineer Wasil Hasan Chowdhury, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman. Later, teachers, students, and officials of the university paid heartfelt homage to the language martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar located on the university campus.
Members of the Board of Trustees, the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of different faculties, Chairpersons of colleges and departments, Directors, Coordinators, teachers, officers, staff, students, BNCC members, Student Ambassadors, members of various student societies, and representatives of the Alumni Association also participated in the program and offered floral tributes.
It is noteworthy that IUBAT observes this historic day every year through various programs, which play a significant role in inspiring students with patriotism and love for their mother tongue.
