The International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) has achieved international accreditation for all its engineering programs under the Washington Accord for a period of six (6) years. The accreditation has been awarded by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), under the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
The accredited programs include Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All four programs have successfully obtained this recognition, marking a significant milestone among private universities in Bangladesh.
To celebrate this prestigious achievement, a day-long colorful program was organized at the IUBAT campus on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The campus was filled with a festive atmosphere with the active participation of faculty members, students, and alumni. The celebration featured a joyful rally, cultural performances, music, dance, and interactive gatherings.
The discussion session was presided over by Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT. Among others present were Professor Selina Nargis, Treasurer and Director (Administration); Professor Dr. Dewan Muhammad Nuruzzaman, Dean, College of Engineering and Technology; Professor Dr. Utpal Kanti Das, Dean, IUBAT School of Computer Science and Engineering; and Professor Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, Chair, Department of Civil Engineering, along with other faculty members and officials.
As part of the ceremony, representatives of the four engineering departments formally presented their accreditation certificates to the university dignitaries. In return, the dignitaries honored the departments with crests in recognition of their outstanding achievement. A token of appreciation was also presented to the renowned band Warfaze. Following the discussion session, the renowned band Warfaze performed live, adding a vibrant dimension to the celebration.
The university authorities stated that achieving this international accreditation signifies that the academic programs meet globally recognized standards. This recognition will provide students with enhanced opportunities for higher studies abroad, scholarships, and employment in multinational organizations. Additionally, continuous evaluation under this framework will further improve curriculum quality and teaching standards. Furthermore, recognition under the Washington Accord will open new avenues for global career prospects and professional recognition for graduates.
